Sweden Green House as a company emerged when one of the founders, building antiquarian and structural engineer Eva Halfwordson, designed a greenhouse for her own plot in Storängen, Stockholm. After studying profiles and greenhouse solutions from old greenhouses that were common in Sweden around the turn of the last century, she found a greenhouse with roots in history but at the same time suited today's greenhouse requirements. Together with the other founder, designer and architect Magnus Wiström, they had developed a greenhouse unique on the Swedish market. This was the starting point for Sweden Green House as a company.

"The greenhouse profiles are still the same as when we started 25 years ago. And actually the same as the old greenhouses around Sweden had over 100 years ago. That's real quality!"
Today, 25 years later, the company has been involved in designing over 750 wooden greenhouses for private individuals and public environments. Sweden Green House greenhouses and orangeries can be found in the most famous gardens around Sweden, such as Rosendal, Zeta or Vandalorum in Småland. The company is today the market leading producer of wooden greenhouses on the Swedish market. The design has developed from the classic models based on a gable roof to a more contemporary version where the greenhouses are clad with a pulpit roof.

"The challenge when building a greenhouse in wood is to find a stable construction that is also pleasing to the eye. It's about proportions and specific knowledge of wood as a material."
Today, Sweden Green House employs over 15 people with everything from design, architecture, administration, carpentry, painting and assembly. Sweden Greenhouse produces all greenhouses in its own carpentry workshop in Södermanland. At the carpentry workshop, all wood is prepared for assembly by adjusting to size and cutting. The carpentry also includes a painting department, where the greenhouse parts are delicately painted by hand with linseed oil paint.
